Written and sung by Marcelo Camelo, “Adeus Você” closes Bloco do Eu Sozinho, produced by Chico Neves and released in 2001. Camelo wrote its farewell narrative after his former girlfriend’s parents moved abroad, initially imagining a mother addressing her daughter. Its orchestral ending capped an album that asserted the band’s creative independence after the success of “Anna Júlia”. Contemporary coverage highlighted the song’s emotional weight within the record’s exploration of separation. The song remained in the band’s concert repertoire, including reunion performances, and appeared on the Mega Hits compilation. Its closing refrain about moving forward encapsulates the farewell themes of an album that became a Brazilian landmark.
