Do It Anyway You Want To

Recorded in 1974 at Sigma Sound in Philadelphia for the Boogie Down U.S.A. sessions, with People's Choice playing its own instruments under Leon Huff and Jay Mark handling recording and mixing. Released in January 1975 on the TSOP imprint, it became People's Choice's biggest hit, reaching No. 1 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also earned gold status and helped define the Philadelphia disco-funk crossover sound. Its break and bass line stayed influential after release, most famously underpinning Dillinger's 1977 'Cokane in My Brain' and being covered by Guru in 1993. The track remains one of the signature records of the Philadelphia International orbit.
