Get Lifted

Recorded in Miami for T.K. Records, with Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch writing and producing the track for George McCrae. The single was issued as TK 1007. It extended McCrae’s early-1975 run as a major T.K. artist, reaching No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 on the Billboard R&B chart. The track became a lasting sample source in hip-hop and related genres, appearing in later recordings by artists including The Notorious B.I.G. and 50 Cent. It remained one of McCrae’s best-known post-'Rock Your Baby' recordings.
