Recording

Recorded in 1974 by The Propositions, a British funk and soul group led by guitarist and songwriter Ronnie Wilson. The session featured a tight horn section, percussion-heavy arrangements and strong Afro-influenced rhythmic elements that distinguished the band's sound. Released during the emergence of British funk, the track stood out for its fusion of funk grooves, jazz influences and African-inspired rhythms. Although it achieved little mainstream commercial exposure, it became highly regarded among DJs and collectors. The recording became a rare-groove classic and was later embraced by hip-hop producers and crate diggers for its breakbeats and instrumental passages. It remains the best-known track in The Propositions' catalog and a landmark of 1970s British funk.
