Feist · 2007
Recording

Recorded during the March 2006 sessions at La Frette near Paris, the song was subsequently rearranged and completed by Ben Mink in Vancouver. Feist co-wrote it with Sally Seltmann and produced it with Chilly Gonzales, Renaud Letang and Mink. Its appearance in Apple's 2007 iPod nano campaign helped turn the song into Feist's international breakthrough. It won Single of the Year at the 2008 Juno Awards and earned Grammy nominations for its vocal performance and music video. The song became a defining recording of Feist's career, linking its success with Patrick Daughters's colourful choreography-driven video. Her rewritten counting version for Sesame Street introduced it to a younger audience.
