Give Me Just a Little More Time

Recorded in 1969 at HDH Studios in Detroit, Michigan, with Chairmen of the Board and produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland. The single was issued on Invictus Records, with songwriting credits using the Edythe Wayne/Ron Dunbar pseudonyms. Released in 1970 as the group’s debut single, it became Chairmen of the Board’s biggest hit, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. It established the act as one of the key early successes of Holland-Dozier-Holland’s post-Motown Invictus operation. The song remains the group’s signature record and a durable soul classic, later covered by artists including Angela Clemmons and Kylie Minogue. It has continued to circulate on compilations and oldies programming, keeping the title in steady use.
