Knowing We'll Be Here
Daniel Avery · 2013Recorded during sessions for Daniel Avery's debut album Drone Logic, Knowing We'll Be Here was created in London using synthesizers, drum machines and electronic effects. Avery produced the track with engineering and programming contributions from James Greenwood, vocals by Kelly Lee Owens and mixing undertaken with Erol Alkan at The Phantasy Sound studio. Released on 7 October 2013 as the closing track of Drone Logic, Knowing We'll Be Here provided a dreamlike, melodic conclusion to Avery's critically acclaimed debut album. Its atmospheric synthesizers, restrained rhythms and ethereal vocals demonstrated the more contemplative side of his production, contrasting with the album's driving club-oriented material. Knowing We'll Be Here became a standalone single in June 2014, accompanied by a euphoric remix from Bulgarian producer KiNK that became a favourite in club and festival sets. The track remains a distinctive part of Avery's early catalogue, illustrating the emotional depth and melodic experimentation that continued throughout his subsequent recordings.
