Falling (Psychemagik Remix)

Psychemagik, the British production duo of Danny McLewin and Tom Coveney, remixed HAIM's Falling for the band's 2013 single and EP release. The original recording featured Danielle, Este and Alana Haim and was produced by the sisters with Ariel Rechtshaid, with engineering by Rechtshaid and David Schiffman. Released in March 2013 as part of the Falling EP, the remix accompanied HAIM's breakthrough into wider international recognition following their victory in the BBC Sound of 2013 poll. Psychemagik retained the original's melodic character while introducing electronic textures, a stronger dancefloor rhythm and a buoyant, boogie-influenced arrangement. The remix remains part of the early HAIM catalogue and reflects the crossover between independent guitar-based songwriting and electronic dance production in the early 2010s. Its inclusion alongside Duke Dumont's remix on the Falling EP helped introduce the band's music to dance-oriented audiences.
