Seen It All Before

Recorded during the Monkey Minds in the Devil's Time sessions in Dan Carey's London studio, with Steve Mason and Carey producing and Carey mixing. Oli Bayston played keyboards and Liam Hutton contributed percussion. The track was widely singled out as one of the album's melodic highlights, with critics praising its bass groove, shuffling beat, handclaps and gospel-inflected harmonies. It helped define the record's blend of direct songwriting with the experimental instincts associated with Mason's earlier work. The song remained part of Mason's live repertoire and was revisited in 2014 with official remixes by Greg Wilson and Derek Kaye. Those remixes were released together as a dedicated Double Six single.
