Coma Cat

Tensnake · 2010
Recording

Tensnake recorded the track in 2009 and later described it as a post-Miami idea shaped to capture a relaxed, summery feeling with a simple, catchy arrangement. The release emerged from his Hamburg-based studio work and became the breakthrough record that brought him wider attention. Released in 2010, the track became Tensnake’s breakthrough and a standout club record, drawing strong support from Defected and landing on the UK Singles Chart. It was widely treated as one of the defining dance records of that summer. The track remains Tensnake’s signature song and one of the best-known house records of its era. Its hook and sample-driven construction helped keep it in club rotations and made it a reference point for later disco-house revivals.
