When The Sh-- Goes Down

Recorded in 1993 for Black Sunday, the track featured B Real and Sen Dog with production by DJ Muggs. The album sessions took place at Soundtrack Studios, Baby Monster Studios, Greene Street Recording and Chung King Studios in New York City. Released by Ruffhouse and Columbia in 1993 as the second single from Black Sunday, When The Shit Goes Down reached number 19 on the UK Official Singles Chart and number 5 in New Zealand. Its F Gary Gray video and darker street narrative extended the albums reach after Insane in the Brain. The track remains one of the key singles from Cypress Hills commercial breakthrough period. Its Black Sunday placement and recurring use in 1990s hip hop retrospectives keep it tied to the groups peak early era.
