Valley of the Shadow
Origin Unknown · 1993Recording
Recorded in a studio session in 1992 with Andy C and Ant Miles for RAM Records, using material from a magazine covermount sample CD and a VHS-recorded documentary sample. The track was assembled in about four hours. It emerged as the B-side to "The Touch" and quickly outgrew the intended A-side, becoming a defining early jungle record. It helped mark the transition from UK hardcore to jungle and became one of RAM Records' biggest releases. It is treated as one of jungle's foundational tracks and one of the clearest early statements of Andy C's career. The record has inspired bootlegs, tributes, and later edits while remaining a landmark in drum and bass history.
