Recording

Dillinja recorded Cybotron as the title track for his 2001 album of the same name. Karl Francis wrote, produced, and presented the album, with Lee Powers credited for mastering and Trenton Harrison for lacquer cutting on the vinyl edition. Released in 2001 on Valve Recordings and FFRR, the track formed part of Dillinja's first full-length album campaign after he had established the Valve sound system and label with Lemon D. It placed his heavy bass-led production style into a major-label-distributed drum and bass album format. The track remains tied to the Cybotron album and Dillinja's early-2000s Valve era. It documents the point where his underground production identity moved into a broader album project while retaining the pressure and engineering focus associated with his club records.
