Worst Comes To Worst

Recorded for the 2001 album Expansion Team, the track featured Evidence, Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu with Guru on additional vocals. The Alchemist produced the record for Capitol, building it around William Bell and Mobb Deep source material. Released by Capitol as a single in 2002, Worst Comes To Worst became one of Dilated Peoples biggest records and reached number 29 on the UK Official Singles Chart. It helped carry Expansion Team beyond underground rap audiences while keeping the groups Los Angeles independent identity intact. The track remains Dilated Peoples signature single and one of The Alchemists most recognized early 2000s productions. Its people come first refrain and soul sample have kept it prominent in hip hop retrospectives and DJ sets.
