Arco Arena

The instrumental was recorded for Comfort Eagle with John McCrea, Xan McCurdy, Gabe Nelson, Vince DiFiore and Todd Roper. The album was recorded in Sacramento with Cake producing its own material. Released on Comfort Eagle in 2001, it appeared on the band first album for Columbia after leaving Capricorn. The track served as a compact instrumental interlude on the record that also produced the hit single Short Skirt Long Jacket. It remains a recognizable deep cut from Cake early 2000s catalogue and reflects the group spare trumpet and guitar driven arrangement style. The title ties the track to Sacramento, the band home city and the former name of its major arena.
