Mothership

Ed Rush · 1996
Recording

“Mothership” was issued in 1996 on the UK 12-inch “Mothership / Defect” for No U-Turn. The release is centred on Ed Rush’s No U-Turn work, with Nico credited in later catalogue listings for the composition and production context around the track. The record formed part of No U-Turn’s decisive mid-1990s singles run and was later included on the label’s 1997 “Torque” compilation. It helped define the label’s stripped, metallic club sound alongside tracks by Trace, Nico and Fierce. “Mothership” remains one of Ed Rush’s key No U-Turn releases and a core title from the “Torque” era. Its continued appearance in reissue, digital and collector listings keeps it tied to the label’s most influential period.
