Naked Lunch

Ed Rush · 1997
Recording

Ed Rush and Optical recorded Naked Lunch as a joint production by Ben Settle and Matt Quinn for V Recordings. The original V 026 promo appeared in 1997 before the full 1998 Funktion / Naked Lunch 12-inch issue. First released in 1997 on V Recordings, the track paired Ed Rush's darker drum and bass direction with Optical's precise engineering style. It appeared just before their Virus Recordings and Wormhole period, when the partnership became central to late-1990s techstep. The track remains a key pre-Wormhole Ed Rush and Optical release and is treated by V Recordings as a drum and bass classic. Later V Recordings reissues kept it in circulation as part of the duo's foundational catalogue.
