Running Dub

Dub Specialist · 1975
Recording

The track was recorded at Studio One and released on Dub Specialist’s Sample Dub album, a 1975 Studio One dub LP. Clement “Coxsone” Dodd produced the set, with Dub Specialist used for the studio’s dub-mix credit. Released in 1975, the track opened Sample Dub and versioned Delroy Wilson’s Studio One “Run Run” rhythm. Its later inclusion on Soul Jazz Records’ Studio One Dub introduced the cut to a wider reissue audience. The track remains in circulation through Studio One and Soul Jazz reissues of Studio One Dub. It preserves one of Delroy Wilson’s Studio One rhythms in the label’s stripped dub-album format.
