Get Ready VIP Dub
Congo Natty · 2015The track is Sukh Knight’s remix of Congo Natty’s “Get Ready VIP,” drawn from the 2015 album Jungle Revolution in Dub. The project was produced and mixed by Congo Natty, with Dave McEwen credited as engineer and Adrian Sherwood credited for mixing on the release. Released on Big Dada in 2015, the track extended the Jungle Revolution material into a dub-remix album after the original album and “Get Ready VIP” single had brought Congo Natty renewed mainstream press attention. It connected Congo Natty’s jungle-reggae lineage with Sukh Knight’s UK bass production style. The track remains part of the Jungle Revolution in Dub catalogue, which gathered versions by producers including Sukh Knight, Adrian Sherwood, Dubkasm, DJ Madd, Vibronics, Mungo’s Hi-Fi, and Conscious Sounds. It documents the mid-2010s bridge between Congo Natty’s revival-era jungle work and contemporary UK dubstep-influenced remix culture.
