Asmara Dub

Wackies · 1977
Recording

The track was recorded at Wackies House of Music for Creation Dub, issued under the Bullwackies All Stars and Wackies catalogue. Lloyd “Bullwackie” Barnes produced and arranged the album through Bala Productions, with Douglas Levy and Barnes credited as engineers. Released in 1977, the track opened one of Wackies’ foundational New York dub albums. The album helped define the sparse, bass-heavy Bronx studio sound that made Wackies a major roots-and-dub label outside Jamaica. The track remains in circulation through Wackies and Basic Channel reissues of Creation Dub. It is part of a sought-after album that continues to anchor the label’s late-1970s dub reputation.
