The Truth

The Ragga Twins · 1992
Recording

Recorded for a John Peel session in January 1992 and produced by Shut Up and Dance, the track features samples of Cubic 22's Night in Motion and 808 State's Pacific 202. Part of The Ragga Twins' groundbreaking early output with producer Shut Up and Dance, the track helped establish the fusion of reggae sound-system culture and rave that defined early UK hardcore rap and the emerging jungle sound. The track remains influential in the development of jungle and drum and bass, notably sampled by The Time Frequency in Retribution 93 (The Prodigy Meets TTF) released in 1992.
