Donna Allen recorded He Is The Joy for Soulfuric with Urban Blues Project, the production partnership of Marc Pomeroy and Brian Tappert. The Jose Nunez Vocal Mix was part of the 1999 remix package alongside U.B.P., Guy Robin, Troublemen, Rocco, Rawsoul Orchestra, DJ Fudge and MoD versions. The single became a key Soulfuric vocal-house release at the end of the 1990s. The Jose Nunez mix placed the song in the Subliminal-era New York club circuit and appeared in Erick Morillo’s 1999 Essential Mix tracklisting. He Is The Joy remained one of Donna Allen’s best-known house recordings and was later revived through Defected and Soulfuric digital reissues. Its later remix campaigns kept the song active in the Soulfuric catalogue across the 2000s and 2020s.
