Disco Four · 1980
Recording

Recorded in New York for Enjoy Records as one of the label’s early rap party singles. The record was issued by The Disco Four, the Harlem group associated with Bobby Robinson’s Enjoy stable. It arrived during the first wave of commercially issued rap records and was promoted by Billboard as a new disco-rap release. The track helped establish The Disco Four within Enjoy’s early hip-hop roster. The song remained a recognized old-school rap cut and later resurfaced on compilations and DJ sets, including Metro Area’s Fabric 43. It also continued to circulate through reissues and soundtrack use.
