Sexual Healing

Recorded live during Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals' 2000 concert tour for the album Live from Mars. Harper performed the Marvin Gaye song with the band, and the recording was produced by Ben Harper and Jean-Pierre Plunier. The performance was one of three cover songs included on Live from Mars and demonstrated Harper's ability to recast established soul material within his live repertoire. It was later issued as a promotional single in 2001. Harper's interpretation became a durable part of his concert repertoire and one of his best-known recorded covers. It remains closely associated with the acoustic half of Live from Mars.
