Jet Black

Recorded for Ventura, released in 2019, with Anderson .Paak joined by Brandy on featured vocals. The track was produced by Pomo, with Danny McKinnon credited on guitar, Olivia Braga on background vocals, Zumo Kollie as assistant engineer, and Dr. Dre and Focus... mixing the album. Released by 12 Tone and Aftermath in 2019, Jet Black appeared on Ventura as one of the album's major guest collaborations. Brandy's presence connected .Paak's retro-soul writing to a central voice from 1990s and 2000s R&B. The track remains a notable Ventura deep cut and one of Anderson .Paak's clearest links to Brandy's vocal lineage. Its place on the Grammy-winning Ventura album kept it visible within .Paak's late-2010s catalogue.
