Holy

Recorded from 16 to 28 November 2024 at Mac DeMarco's home studio in Los Angeles during sessions for Guitar. DeMarco wrote, performed, recorded, produced, and mixed the track himself, with David Ives mastering the album. Released by Mac's Record Label in July 2025, Holy was the second advance single from Guitar. It introduced the album's stripped-down, self-recorded approach ahead of DeMarco's first full studio album since Here Comes the Cowboy. Holy became one of the key early tracks from Guitar and part of DeMarco's 2025 live set as he returned to international touring. The song documents his late-period move toward direct songwriting and fully independent home-studio production.
