Recording

T-Connection recorded Groove to Get Down for the album On Fire at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami. The track was written by Theophilus Coakley and produced by Alex Sadkin, Cory Wade and T-Connection. The track appeared on the group's On Fire album and on the Let Yourself Go single during T-Connection's TK and Dash period. Its inclusion on Ultimate Breaks and Beats later made it a widely circulated DJ and breakbeat record. Groove to Get Down became one of T-Connection's most sampled recordings through its breakbeat use in hip-hop and dance production. It remains a collector-favoured album cut from the group's late-1970s Miami sessions.
