Vitamin C

Can recorded Vitamin C at Inner Space Studio in Weilerswist, West Germany, with Damo Suzuki, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli, Jaki Liebezeit and Irmin Schmidt. Holger Czukay produced, recorded and edited the track. Vitamin C was issued as a single after the German success of Spoon and became one of the defining tracks from Can's Ege Bamyası period. Its taut rhythm section and Damo Suzuki vocal made it a concise entry point into the band's early-1970s work. Vitamin C remains one of Can's most recognizable recordings and has had a long afterlife in film, television and remix culture. U.N.K.L.E. remixed it for Sacrilege, and the track has appeared in soundtracks including Broken Embraces, Inherent Vice, The Get Down and The Gentlemen.
