Hot in Herre

Nelly recorded the song with The Neptunes for Nellyville, with Brian Garten handling recording and Rich Travali mixing. The release credits also list Dani Stevenson on vocals alongside Nelly. Released in 2002 as the lead single from Nellyville, it became a major pop-rap crossover and spent seven consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was one of the defining hits of that summer and helped drive Nellyville’s breakout success. It remains one of Nelly’s signature songs and a durable party-rap touchstone, with continued recognition through covers, remixes, and samples. Its hook and Neptunes production kept it embedded in early-2000s pop culture long after release.
