U Know What's Up

Donell Jones recorded 'U Know What's Up' featuring Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes for his second album Where I Wanna Be, with production by R. Kelly, who built the track around a smooth, mid-tempo groove designed to showcase Jones's vocal blend of soul and contemporary urban styling. Released in 1999 on LaFace Records, 'U Know What's Up' reached number 1 on the Billboard R&B chart and became Donell Jones's breakthrough single, establishing him as a leading male voice in late-1990s R&B alongside an album that earned widespread critical praise for its consistency.
