Hack 1

Think Tank · 1996
Recording

Paul Robb composed and produced the track in 1990 as part of the material intended for Information Society’s Hack sessions. It was issued under the Think Tank name as an underground club record and later appeared in remix form on HAKATAK-related releases. The track mattered as a cult breakbeat release tied to Paul Robb’s post-Information Society experimentation, and it quickly circulated beyond its original context. It became known as a club favorite and a source record for later DJs and producers. The track has endured through later remixes, DJ compilations, and sampling references, and it remains closely associated with early-1990s electro-breakbeat culture. Its riffing and break structure also continued to be cited in later sample usage and remix culture.
