The track was assembled posthumously for Duets: The Final Chapter and credited to The Notorious B.I.G. with guest vocals from Diddy, Nelly, Jagged Edge, Avery Storm, and Jazze Pha. It was produced by Jazze Pha and built around Biggie’s earlier material from “Nasty Boy.” Released on October 11, 2005, as the lead single from Duets: The Final Chapter, it introduced the album’s posthumous duet concept to the public and became a U.S. hit. It peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and kept Biggie in the mainstream singles charts years after his death. The song extended the life of the Biggie catalog in pop and R&B crossover radio, and its hook-centered rewrite of “Nasty Boy” made it one of the most recognizable posthumous Notorious B.I.G. releases.
