Put Your Love (in My Tender Care)

Recorded in 1975 by The Fatback Band during sessions for the album Raising Hell, the track featured the group's core lineup led by bassist Bill Curtis. The recording blended the band's dance-floor rhythm section with smooth vocal harmonies and polished soul-funk production. Released during a prolific period for the group, the song demonstrated The Fatback Band's ability to balance hard funk grooves with sophisticated soul songwriting. It helped reinforce the band's reputation as one of the era's most consistent dance-oriented funk acts. The recording became a favorite among rare-groove collectors and was later sampled by hip-hop producers drawn to its rhythm section and melodic passages. It remains a respected deep cut within The Fatback Band's catalog and a representative example of mid-1970s funk-soul craftsmanship.
