Moonlight

“Moonlight” was released by Disclosure in August 2018 as a standalone single and later as the title track of the Moonlight EP. The record was written and produced by Guy Lawrence and Howard Lawrence, built around The Real Group’s recording of “When I Fall in Love,” with Guy Lawrence credited for mixing and Stuart Hawkes for mastering. The single continued Disclosure’s 2018 return after a short hiatus and followed “Ultimatum” in a run of compact, sample-led club releases. Its release reconnected the duo with the stripped-down dance-record approach that had defined their early breakthrough. “Moonlight” remains one of Disclosure’s key late-2010s non-album tracks and anchors the five-track Moonlight EP. Its vocal-jazz sample source and concise club arrangement preserve the duo’s sample-flip approach between Caracal and Energy.
