Heat

General Levy · 1992
Recording

General Levy recorded the track in London-era Fashion Records sessions with in-house producer Gussie P, alongside the label’s wider early-1990s dancehall output. It appears on the 1992 Fashion Records album The Wickeder General. The track was part of the run of Fashion Records singles that established General Levy in the UK dancehall scene. It helped define his early reputation before his later jungle crossover. Heat remains one of General Levy’s signature early recordings and is still cited as a key track from his Fashion Records period. Its vocal line has continued to circulate in later dance music and has been sampled in newer releases.
