More Than This

Recorded at Water Music in Hoboken, New Jersey, with Joe Ferla engineering and co-producing alongside Charlie Hunter. Norah Jones handled the guest vocal on this Roxy Music cover, and the track was mixed at River Sound Studio in New York City. The track appeared on Songs from the Analog Playground, the Charlie Hunter release that introduced guest vocalists to his Blue Note work. Norah Jones’s performance on the cover became one of the album’s defining moments. It is remembered as an early Charlie Hunter and Norah Jones collaboration and as one of the album tracks that broadened Hunter’s audience beyond instrumental jazz listeners. The recording also helped establish Jones as a distinctive interpreter of classic material before her solo breakthrough.
