Mais dans la lumière (Remasterisé en 2010)

Recorded for Mike Brant's 1970 CBS single “Mais dans la lumière” backed with “Et je suis heureux,” with Jean Renard writing, composing and producing the song. The session credits list Mike Brant on lead vocal, Jean-Claude Vannier as conductor, Jean-Claude Charvier as engineer and Patrice Quef as assistant engineer. Released in October 1970 and included on Brant's debut album Mike Brant, “Mais dans la lumière” reached number 6 on France's IFOP chart and number 1 in Israel. The song also won the national first prize and international grand prize at the RTL Grand Prix de la Chanson in Luxembourg on 28 October 1970. The song remained one of Brant's signature early recordings and was reissued in remastered form in 2010 by Parlophone and Warner Music France. Its dramatic introduction later reached hip-hop audiences through samples used by Wu-Tang Clan on “Preservation” and by Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent on “Crack a Bottle.”
