12-Turn-13
Greg Wilson · 2013"12-Turn-13" was created as Greg Wilson returned to original record production, developing groove-based tracks specifically for his DJ sets. It was road-tested in Chicago and New York during 2012 and took its title from the Brooklyn loft venue 12-Turn-13, where Wilson had performed. Released as the opening track in Wilson's Schooled in the Classics series, it marked his first sustained move back into record production after years focused primarily on DJing and re-edits. The series was conceived around original, old-school-informed dance productions built for contemporary club play. "12-Turn-13" inaugurated the Schooled in the Classics series and became closely associated with Wilson's transition from celebrated re-editor back to original producer. Its title also preserves a link to the Brooklyn underground club scene that helped inspire the recording.
