Can't Take It

Recloose recorded Can't Take It for Planet E in 2000, with Dwele providing vocals and co-writing the title track. The original 12-inch credits Matt Chicoine for writing, production and mixing, and M.J.R. for mastering at Metropolis Mastering. The single marked Dwele's recording debut and became an important Planet E release at the turn of the millennium. It helped define a more soulful Detroit club sound around the Carl Craig-led label. Can't Take It remained one of Recloose's key early records and later returned through Planet E remix editions by Carl Craig, Herbert, Luciano and Milton Jackson. Its Dwele vocal kept the track connected to the meeting point between Detroit house, techno and neo-soul.
