Dub Organiser
Augustus Pablo · 1974Recorded in Kingston at Randy's Studio 17 for Augustus Pablo's debut album This Is Augustus Pablo, with Clive Chin producing and arranging and Errol Thompson handling the mix. The session featured Pablo's melodica-led style alongside the Randy's studio team. The track introduced one of Augustus Pablo's signature early melodica instrumentals and helped establish the sound of his 1974 debut album. It stood out as part of the run of roots-era Jamaican instrumentals that carried dub into a more atmospheric, melodic direction. Dub Organiser remained part of the core Augustus Pablo catalog and was later reissued on 17 North Parade editions of This Is Augustus Pablo. It is remembered as an early example of Pablo's melodica voice, a sound that became central to his later influence on dub and roots reggae.
