Three Little Birds
Bob Marley & The Wailers · 1980Recording
It was recorded during the 1977 Exodus sessions in London after Bob Marley left Jamaica following the 1976 assassination attempt. The track was cut with Bob Marley & The Wailers at Island Studios as part of the album that established Marley’s exile-era sound. It appeared on Exodus, the album that became one of Marley’s defining international statements, and it was issued as a single in 1980. In the UK it reached the Top 20, helping turn the song into one of his most recognizable anthems. Its chorus made it one of Marley’s most enduring songs, with the refrain widely used in film, television, advertising, and cover versions. The track remains a signature piece of reggae’s global mainstream reach.
