Victoria Hesketh developed the track with Joe Goddard and Greg Kurstin during the sessions leading to her debut album Hands. Goddard produced the recording, with additional production by Kurstin and mixing by Tom Elmhirst. The song helped establish Little Boots before her debut album: a bedroom performance posted online led to an appearance on Later... with Jools Holland in November 2008. Pitchfork subsequently ranked it among the strongest tracks on Hands. The song reached gaming audiences through its inclusion in Dance Central 2 in 2011.
