No Distance

No Distance was produced collaboratively by Israeli producer Guy Gerber and German DJ and producer Dixon, whose real name is Steffen Berkhahn, for the inaugural release on Gerber's Rumors label. The nearly eight-minute recording combines layered synthesizer melodies, bell-like tones, loose percussion, vocal textures and a prominent bassline. Released in March 2014, with a digital release following on 7 April, No Distance launched Guy Gerber's Rumors record label and established its musical direction. The collaboration brought together Gerber's atmospheric production and Dixon's Innervisions-associated sound, achieving a number-one position on Beatport and receiving a remix from German producer Lake People. No Distance remains an important early release in the Rumors catalogue, marking the beginning of a label that subsequently featured Seth Troxler, Chaim, DJ Tennis and other established electronic artists. Its success helped establish Rumors as a recognised imprint and remains a notable collaboration between two influential figures in international club music.
