Recording

Bogotá was recorded for 1975, the 2014 debut album by Portuguese electronic producer Xinobi, the recording alias of Bruno Cardoso. Created as part of his Lisbon-based production work, the eight-minute track features a brooding bassline and recurring piano chords. Released as the seventh track on 1975, Bogotá demonstrated Xinobi's ability to combine extended dancefloor arrangements with darker, atmospheric songwriting. The track attracted international attention when British production duo Psychemagik remixed it in October 2014, with the reworking featured by Vice's THUMP. Bogotá remains part of Xinobi's early catalogue and documents the sound he established on his debut album before developing it further on subsequent releases. Psychemagik's 2014 remix gave the composition an additional interpretation, transforming its original piano chords into a more ominous arrangement.
