Got My Mind Set on You

The track was recorded for Cloud Nine at FPSHOT, George Harrison home studio at Friar Park, with Harrison working alongside Jeff Lynne. The recording remade Rudy Clark song first recorded by James Ray in 1962. Released as the lead single from Cloud Nine in 1987, it returned Harrison to major chart prominence after a long gap from solo hits. The single reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. It remains Harrison final number 1 single in the United States and one of his best known solo recordings. The hit also renewed attention on the earlier James Ray recording and became a defining late career success for Harrison.
