(It Happens) Sometimes

Released in 2018 as David Guetta’s Jack Back alias, the track drew on Bessie Jones’ 1960 song “Sometimes” and was issued as a Defected release in late September 2018. It was produced by Guetta as a Jack Back single and appeared as the project returned to his underground house roots. The song marked one of the defining early Jack Back releases and quickly became a club record, later reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. It also established Jack Back as a separate lane for Guetta’s house-oriented work. It remains closely associated with Guetta’s Jack Back identity and with his return to a more underground sound. The track’s chart-topping club success helped make the alias recognizable beyond the single’s original release.
