Far Beyond Version

Far Beyond Version

The New Establishment · 1972
Recording

The track was recorded at Studio One for Clement “Coxsone” Dodd’s Bongo Man imprint, with The New Establishment providing the version side to Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace’s “Far Beyond.” Digital reissues credit the composition to Leroy Wallace and Clement Dodd. First issued in the early 1970s, the record placed Studio One’s in-house players in a deeper roots-version setting on the Bongo Man label. It later reached a wider reissue audience through Natural High: The Bongo Man Collection and Soul Jazz Records’ Studio One Music Lab. The track remains valued as a rare Studio One version cut and a companion to Leroy Wallace’s “Far Beyond.” It preserves the Bongo Man imprint’s heavier early-1970s roots sound within the broader Studio One catalogue.
