Creation (It's Just Begun)

Recorded for the Jimmy Castor Bunch’s 1972 RCA album It’s Just Begun, the track served as the orchestral opening prologue to the set. It was built around the band with a 30-piece orchestra framing the album’s concept-style introduction. The track set up the album’s dramatic opening and established the record’s blend of funk, soul, and theatrical arrangement. It helped define It’s Just Begun as one of the Jimmy Castor Bunch’s key 1970s statements. The album it opens became a major source for later hip-hop and breakbeat sampling, and the prologue remains part of the record’s distinctive concept-album identity. The title sequence continues to be cited for its cinematic, street-funk atmosphere.
