Made You Look

Recorded in 2002 for God's Son and released as the album's first single. It was written by Nasir Jones and Salaam Remi and produced by Salaam Remi. The track helped define Nas's post-Stillmatic direction with an old-school, lyric-forward single at the start of God's Son. It became one of the album's best-known songs and a notable urban radio hit. The song remained one of Nas's signature records and his third-highest-charting single. Its beat also reappeared on Amy Winehouse's 2003 song "In My Bed," extending its reach beyond hip-hop.
