Recording

Idol Making recorded Un, Deux, Trois for Techno! The New Dance Sound Of Detroit, first issued by 10 Records in 1988. The project paired Blake Baxter with Derrick May, who also served as Detroit coordinator for the compilation. The track appeared on the compilation that introduced Detroit's new electronic dance sound to a wider UK and European audience. Its inclusion placed Idol Making among the Detroit artists gathered by Neil Rushton for the landmark 1988 release. Un, Deux, Trois remains preserved through later reissues of Techno! The New Dance Sound Of Detroit and Techno One And Two. It stands as a rare Blake Baxter and Derrick May collaboration from the first international framing of Detroit techno.
